Fertility Naturopath:  Preconception, IVF & Fertility Support

Evidence-based fertility naturopath support for women and couples, including personalised preconception care, PMOS, endometriosis, sperm health and IVF support. Online Australia-wide.

Trying to conceive can bring a lot of questions. Are you ovulating regularly? Are your hormones where they need to be? Is your nutrition supporting egg and sperm health? Are there underlying factors that may be making conception more difficult?

As a fertility naturopath, I work with women and couples who want to take a proactive, evidence-based approach to their fertility — whether you're preparing to start trying, have been trying for some time, have a diagnosed reproductive condition, or are preparing for IVF or other assisted reproductive treatment.

My approach combines nutrition, lifestyle medicine, nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine and appropriate pathology or functional testing, while working alongside your GP, fertility specialist or other healthcare providers where required.

When should you see a fertility naturopath?

You don't need to wait until you've been diagnosed with infertility to start supporting your fertility. For couples wanting to take a proactive approach to preconception health, I also offer a comprehensive Fertility Package that considers both female and male fertility. Explore the Fertility Package.

Naturopathic fertility care may be appropriate if you:

  • Are planning to start trying for a baby in the next 3–6 months

  • Have been trying to conceive without success

  • Have irregular, absent or unpredictable menstrual cycles

  • Have PCOS, endometriosis or adenomyosis

  • Experience short cycles, long cycles or suspected anovulation

  • Have concerns about ovulation, progesterone or your luteal phase

  • Have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss

  • Have low iron, vitamin D, B12, folate or other nutritional deficiencies

  • Want to improve sperm health before conception

  • Are preparing for IVF, IUI or another fertility treatment

  • Have been told you have low AMH or reduced ovarian reserve

  • Want support with nutrition and supplementation before pregnancy

Where appropriate, I also work with both partners. Fertility isn't solely a female health issue, and assessing sperm health can be an important part of the fertility picture.

What happens during a fertility naturopath consultation?

Your first consultation is an opportunity to look at the whole fertility picture rather than one hormone or one symptom.

We'll discuss your:

  • Menstrual and reproductive history

  • Previous pregnancies or pregnancy losses

  • Fertility investigations

  • Current and previous pathology results

  • Medical history

  • Current medications and supplements

  • Diet

  • Digestion

  • Sleep

  • Exercise

  • Stress

  • Lifestyle

  • Fertility timeline and goals

If you're attending as a couple, we can also review your partner's health history, lifestyle, nutrition and any previous semen analysis results.

Following your consultation, you'll receive an individualised treatment plan that may include nutrition, lifestyle recommendations, further testing and, where appropriate, nutritional or herbal supplementation.

Fertility care should feel collaborative

Fertility can quickly become overwhelming. Between social media, supplements, fertility apps, blood tests and conflicting advice, it can be difficult to know what actually deserves your attention.

My approach is to simplify the process.

Rather than trying to control every possible variable, we focus on the areas most relevant to your body, your pathology and your fertility journey.

Naturopathic care can complement — rather than compete with — conventional fertility medicine. Where appropriate, I am happy to work alongside your GP, gynaecologist or fertility specialist to ensure your naturopathic care fits safely within your broader fertility treatment plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far before trying to conceive should I see a fertility naturopath?

Around three months before trying to conceive can be a useful starting point. This provides time to assess nutrition, address relevant nutrient deficiencies, review lifestyle factors and support both female and male preconception health.

However, there is no wrong time to begin. If you're already trying to conceive or undergoing fertility treatment, your plan can be tailored to where you are now.

Can a naturopath help me get pregnant?

Naturopathic treatment cannot guarantee pregnancy. Fertility is complex and can be influenced by age, reproductive anatomy, genetics, egg and sperm health, underlying medical conditions and many other factors.

Naturopathic fertility care aims to identify and support modifiable factors such as nutrition, nutrient deficiencies, metabolic health, menstrual cycle health and lifestyle while ensuring appropriate medical investigations are undertaken where necessary.

Do you work with women undergoing IVF?

Yes. Naturopathic care can be used alongside IVF and other assisted reproductive treatments. Supplement and herbal recommendations need to be considered carefully alongside fertility medications, so please bring your current treatment plan and medication list to your consultation.

Should my partner attend?

If you're trying to conceive as a couple, I strongly encourage considering both partners' health.

Your partner does not necessarily need to attend every consultation, but semen analysis, nutrition, lifestyle factors and nutritional status may all be relevant to your fertility plan.

Can you organise fertility blood tests?

Yes. Where appropriate, I can provide private pathology referrals for hormone blood testing, sperm testing and organise functional tests, such as vaginal microbiome testing. These tests are not covered by Medicare and have their own out-of-pocket costs.

I can also recommend pathology that may be useful based on your individual history and, where appropriate, communicate with your GP regarding further testing.
