HORMONE TESTING

Take the guesswork out of your hormonal health

greta1.jfif

Testing helps us move beyond simply assuming your hormones are “out of balance”.

Your results are interpreted alongside your symptoms, cycle, medical history, existing pathology, diet and lifestyle to build a clearer picture of what may be contributing to how you're feeling.

From there, we can make more informed decisions about nutrition, lifestyle, supplementation and herbal medicine, while working alongside your GP, gynaecologist, fertility specialist or other healthcare providers where appropriate.

Investigate first. Understand what's happening. Then treat with purpose.

You may benefit from testing hormones if you're experiencing:
  • PMS, irregular or painful cycles

  • Acne, bloating, or mood changes around your period

  • Low libido or fatigue

  • Perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms

  • Suspected oestrogen dominance or low testosterone

  • Sleep issues, anxiety, or brain fog

  • Adrenal fatigue or chronic stress

  • Fertility challenges

Timing matters

When it comes to reproductive hormones, when you test can be just as important as what you test. This is an area I often see missed in the medical field.

Hormone levels naturally change throughout the menstrual cycle. For fertility, PCOS, irregular cycles and ovulation investigations, certain hormones may need to be tested on specific days of your cycle.

For example, some hormones are best assessed early in the menstrual cycle, while progesterone is generally tested around 7 days after ovulation — rather than automatically on “day 21” for every woman.

I consider your individual cycle length, symptoms and signs of ovulation when determining which testing may be most appropriate.
